In the upcoming off-season, we are putting together a training program that will help to prepare our walk leader volunteers with unified guidelines, clear instructions, and resources to get them comfortable with the process. You don't need to be an expert to lead a walk; you only need a desire to help fellow members have a pleasant experience in the field.
Thank you to our walk leaders who have helped grow our identification walks this season. This year's ambitious walk schedule wouldn't exist without you. Thanks to Luke Sarrantonio, Fletcher Haug, Jill Weiss, Ilda Zukowski, Thistle Pernot, David Logsdon, Laura Whalen, Gerry and Carol McDonald, Libby Rose, Joan Kutcher, Melissa Cohen, and Richard Kaufman for the walks they have led or will soon be hosting. And a special thanks to Jackie Proctor for helping so much on many of our walks.
Leading a walk is simple; you just pick a date, time, and place, and we will coordinate the rest, including providing you with an experienced walk mentor, if needed. We encourage members to reach out to us if they have interest in attending our walk leader training program over the winter.
