Welcome to the MidHudson Mycological Association (MHMA) webpage.

Feel free to browse our events where you will find most of our walk schedule, as well as our monthly speakers and meetings. Most of our events are free and open to the public as our annual membership dues go toward providing the community with many mushroom gatherings. Want to become a MHMA member? Click on “join the MHMA” under the About Tab. When you are a member you will get email updates on events including invites to our members only mushroom walks and our delicious annual dinner. Soon you will be on your way to connecting with like-minded people and sharing knowledge about mushrooms. Where else are you going to find such FunGuys, FunGals, and FunPeople?!

You may also check out our POSTS where we discuss our fungus finds and other related topics.

We are purely volunteer run so please be patient with updates and responses. If you would like to help out, please let us know.

Thanks for visiting,

  1. Hello,

I have what looks like a lantern stinkhorn in my yard in Rhinecliff. But I did not think these were an East Coast mushroom. I’d be happy to send a picture.

    1. Attach one to a post. Otherwise, we have a Facebook group which is followed by experts around the area who can help.

  2. Hi , I’m a new member and am fully vaccinated but also willing to wear a mask . Seems with all the rain, great time to see a lot of variety in the woods .
Can you please share when there might be an incoming foray . We are 2 new members living in Bearsville.
    Thank You

    1. Hi Colleen, if you’re a paid member(not a free member of a Facebook group) you should receive an email with any upcoming walks. If you just joined in the last couple of days, be patient, we’re all volunteers, an email should be forthcoming. If you don’t receive one shortly, drop me a note and I’ll contact the member’s leader.

  3. Really excited about joining and learning more about mushrooms! I love the forest and know many places and always fascinated by mushrooms.
