Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area
June 24, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Very Important!!! DO NOT go to the entrance directly off of the Taconic Parkway and DO NOT go to the Pleasant Valley side of the multi Use Area thinking it’s a short cut as this leads to a private property which you can’t cross.
Parking is at a dead end on Tyrrel Road – this is our meeting area. See link below for Google Map. Don’t stop at the address on the map, go to the end of the road.
If coming from the north – take the Taconic Parkway – Tyrrel road is 13 miles south of the Bulls Head road exit. Make a left and cross the median(be careful). Go to the end. About 1.5 miles.
If coming from the South – take the Taconic Parkway – about 7 miles north of the Route 55 exit (Poughkeepsie) to Tyrrel Road. Make a right and go to the end.
This will be the second walk for our club at this area and we don’t know what we’re going to find at this time of year. This is all about exploring new territory and having fun!
The 917-acre Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area is one of the largest state forests in Dutchess County. Most trails on this property allow multiple uses. It is very popular with mountain bikers, horseback riders, and dog walkers.
