Clam Bake

 Date:

 Saturday, July 17, 2010

 Time:

 10:30am - 5:00pm

 Location:

 Wittenburg Sportsmans Club

 Description

This is one of the most anticipated events of the year. Great location, great food, great walk. Mark your calendars...

Tickets are $35.00 in advance, $40.00 at the event.

July 17th, Saturday - Wittenberg Sportsman's Club Clam Bake, Host/Leader Elmer LeSuer. Plan to spend the afternoon, as you are sure to enjoy this day! It's all centered around the Wittenberg Sportsmen's Club Annual Clam Bake feast with all the trimming's and live music in the Club's Sheltered Pavillion.

"Clam Bake" technically starts at 1:00 pm but we will have a pre-bake walk starting at ~10:30... For more serious shroomers, and a more "kid & novice" oriented walk mid-bake say around 3pm...

The event is rain or shine and make sure you bring your fish pole, binoculars and of course your mushroom basket, because there is a 30 acre lake (and a kid's fishing contest), a few hundred acres with plenty of prime mushroom turf to explore and the club grounds are open to all Clam Bake Guests in attendance.

The advance tickets are $35 each and must be purchased by July 7th. There will be a morning walk starting at 10:30, followed by a "Clam-Bake Break", at ~noon and then a different afternoon walk starting at 1:30. Join us for one walk, or make both... either way make sure you bring your appetite and try to bring at least one new person!

The food and drink is always great and plentiful, the band is a folksy country bluegrassy type band, and with any luck we will find some chanterelles... Other possibles are Oysters, Boletes, Chickens, and who knows what else! I guarantee we will find many different species!

This event is open to anyone club members and non club members... Really, it is open to anyone who buys a ticket... So invite friends and/or bring the family, I promise you will enjoy...

Contact Elmer LeSuer for more information or to reserve tickets.

 DIRECTIONS:
NYS Thruway to Exit 19 Kingston - After toll advance to traffic circle, At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto NY-28 N (or West really)... Go 7.4 mi (about 9 mins), Then just after Bear go right onto Old Route 28, Go 0.5 mi
to old church and turn right onto Co Rd 41/Ohayo Mountain Rd, Wind your way 1.7 mi up and. Turn left onto Yerry Hill Rd, Go 0.6 mi, Turn left onto Montoma Ln... Follow all the way Montoma dead-ends on club property... Keep going straight on club road until you see the pavillion and find a place to park!

You can get directions to Montoma Lane, Woodstock, NY... Just go to end of Montoma Lane...
