Time Sunday, August 21, 2011 · 9:30am – 12:30pm
Location Culinary Institute in Hyde Park
More Info The COMA Group will be joining us on this walk. As this is prime time for mushrooms, it should be an awesome day!
We will most likely cross Rte 9 and walk the woods there, but I'll check out the woods behind the parking lot as well. I haven't been through those woods before, but if it doesn't look promising, we'll stick with a sure thing. I've found a little bit of everything there and as long as we don't have another dry summer, it should be a good walk.
The Culinary is really easy to get to. The parking lot is on the left
side of Rte 9 if you're traveling north. The are Deer Ticks in this area…
It is recommended to wear light colored clothing to help detect them, and to spray yourself with some repellent. Aside from tick spray, don't forget water, a basket for supplies and mushrooms, a knife, your mushroom book, a friend or two…
Directions: http://www.ciachef.edu/visitors/hp/directions/
We will meet in the northern most part of the main parking which is in front of the school along Route 9.
Here is a google maps link with approximate coordinates and satellite
imagery…
