Mycology: A Mushroom Walk
June 1, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$5Wagon House Education Center at Olana Historic Site
5720 Route 9G, Hudson, New York 12534
Educational only – no pick.
Join the Mid-Hudson Mycological Association on a mushroom walk at Olana. We will start with a brief introduction to foraging, including the ecology of forest mushrooms, safety in the woods, how to identify mushrooms and some tips for cooking wild mushrooms. Jill Weiss, the club’s Walks Coordinator, will be leading the walk along with several club experts. Anyone joining us should bring bug repellant, water to drink and a camera since Olana prohibits harvesting anything in their woods. MHMA suggests you wear long pants that can be tucked into your socks to keep the ticks out and hiking boots. Please pre-register by Friday, May 30 toshasbrook@olana.org or 518.828.1872 x 109.

Hello, I am a teacher at Monroe-Woodbury Middle School and teach Life science. I require the students to go out and find fungi, picture it, ID where they found it, etc. But I have many species that I cannot identify!
Is there a downloadable guide ya’ll recommend or could share?? Let me know, Per
