Mushroom/Fungi and Education Walk with The Woodstock Land Conservancy

Saturday, Sept. 6, 10 am at the Thorn Preserve (John Joy Road, Woodstock) for a Mushroom/Fungi and Education Walk with The Woodstock Land Conservancy.

Join WLC and members of the Mid-Hudson Mycological Society for a walk in the meadows and woods of the 60-acre Thorn Preserve.  Learn the basics of fungi identification, knowing which are safe and which are poisonous, as well as the place of fungi in the ecology of woodland. A field guide would be a useful tool if available.

Directions to Thorn Preserve

Directions (From Route 28)
-Take Zena Road from Route 28 – at stoplight intersection by Stewarts
-Continue through 4-way stop onto John Joy Road
-Preserve is located in big field on Left
-Parking is available on roadside pull-off.

It should be understood that the presence of fungi is entirely dependent upon weather conditions leading up to the time of the walk.
Please dress appropriately for the likely presence of ticks.

Event will cancel in the event of rain.
