It seems Anthony's Nose is a well known spot for hiking. Here are some directions to get there. Parking may be an issue if we have a large gathering, but there are places to park in the area.

 Hi Mushroomers,
We have an impromptu walk scheduled for this Sunday, November 6th at Noon Near Bear Mountain. The spot is called Anthony's Nose. It's an easy walk that is great for kids to come along. About 2.5 miles long and 2-3 hours in time.
I'll be posting specific directions later this evening.

We did a looksee on Sunday and the mushrooms are starting to come alive due to the increased rain we've had. Lots of russulas, slime molds, LBMs, a waxy cap or two, chickens of the woods, oysters and we didn't cover nearly all there is to offer.

We did a looksee this evening to see what was out there. It's dry as a bone at the Asokan Reservoir. All we found were 4 dry chanterelles. However, we have an alternate site that has fruiting mushrooms.
We're still meeting at the Ashokan reservoir at 8:30 am. At 9 am we'll be heading to another location [...]
