- Help Wanted

There are several positions that we’d be glad to see you fill.

1. Walks coordinator – Create and manage the schedule of walks by contacting past and potential new hosts.

2. Newsletter chair – Write a monthly newsletter about the experiences you’ve had going on mushroom walks or referencing information from outside sources that is of interest to club members.

Add a comment if you are interested in making one of these valuable contributions to the clud.

What is your advise about apple orchards, arsenic and morels.

    • Be mindful of old Apple orchards and eat sparingly from them. They are good locations for club walks so people can see Morels without revealing private, less toxic areas.

    Greetings fellow mushroom enthusiasts~
My name is Regena & I live between Highland & New Paltz.
I have long been fascinated by “shrooms” and currently
trying to grow King Trumpet (Oyster) in my basement.
I am having VERY good luck creating mycelium but have had little success in the actual cultivation-regardless of how many youtube.com vids I have watched!
Regardless-this is my first attempts just in the last couple of months.
I am so fascinated by these mystical “creatures” that I wrote a poem regarding them and have had it on FB for years…
I am also a burn survivor; middle-aged; & single…I only mention this because I no longer drive due to injuries..
But I am an original Mother Earther & would like to participate in your club & would be willing to lend a hand in any way I can.
Though I have a B.A in Psych/Social Work, due to my injuries again- I no longer am employed. You might think I have lots of time-but my house keeps me busy…..Loving my planet; herbs; wild mushrooms; gardening; are the things I keep busy with..
I would truly enjoy meeting like minded folks..
Though my income is limited I would like to volunteer my services in lieu of membership dues-which I haven’t even looked at yet.
If there is anything anyone there would like help with-please do not hesitate to call me.
Hope to hear from someone soon in celebration of Spring & Morel season~

I imagine the above position of coordinator has been filled. If not-is it something I can do from my own computer; phone and at my home?
I know I would have all the qualifications necessary having been a Director of a Not for Profit Org as well as a secretary for more years then I care to mention.
I still have some local references and am only looking for something that can be done at home. I am ambulatory so that is not a barrier for me. And I am able to get transportation when necessary. Again, I am not interested in mega bucks, but am interested in doing something from home & thoroughly enjoy.
Please contact me if there is any interest in my offer. And again, I will be interested in also volunteering.
    Thank You, Regena

    Hi
After I read the latest email, I decided to view the website. After 3 “DNS Server Error” messages, I saw a beautiful website that is difficult to describe (ineffable?).
First, the tone of green is perfect and soothing to my eyes. The layout is clear, the site is easy to navigate, and the information is edifying. I could go on, but the main point I’m making is that you got it perfect on the first try! Your web designer is obviously a person who is very perceptive and understands this group of people.
Every time I plan to attend a meeting, something happens at the last minute. I’ll try again, and I plan to join.
    Thank you for the treat!

P.S. I apologize if you’ve gotten more than 1 comment, but something weird has happened on the 2 previous attempts!

There is also the membership chair position. Most of that is processing applications and computer work.
