Locust Grove Walk – Saturday September 24, 2011 8:30am

8:30am – noon ish

This walk is a group favorite with beautiful tasty mushrooms, sometimes in large quantities..

The Morse Estate, where the walk is held, is a nature preserve. Our annual walk is the ONLY time at which anyone is permitted to pick mushrooms there. Please do not abuse our relationship with the generous administrators of the estate by picking mushrooms any other day of the year.

We will meet outside of the visitors center.

We usually don't cancel a walk due to rain (unless it's deemed too dangerous…hurricane)

Please bring…

a basket, a knife for harvest, mushroom foraging guides, camera, rainwear and jacket/sweatshirt, water to drink, boots/footwear suitable for hiking, friends!

We are new members as of 8/26/11. Will there be someone to guide us so far as which mushrooms are edible and which are not, and other information. We have never been involved in hunting mushrooms but we sure do love them.
